IKEv2 VPN connections and macOS dropdown in menu bar – MacRumors

It seems to be going on since I added first IKEv2 VPN connection to my system. The problem is that IKEv2 connections are going randomly “missing” from native VPN status dropdown in menu bar while others remain there.

I have found only two ways to mitigate it – either do ‘killall SystemUIServer’ or switch to another “Location” if there is more than one in network settings. Connections do exist in the network preferences window even when they fail to show up in dropdown and it is possible to connect/disconnect from there at that time as well.

As I added first IKEv2 connection after upgrading to Monterey, there’s no way to know if this issue is Monterey-specific or not. As this is a bit complicate to easily reproduce, I have one question – am I alone with this problem or not?
